We are leaving
Flagstaff and J&H RV park this morning and going to Las Vegas, NV. There was a cute card on our door this
morning from the management. It's a picture of a prairie dog waving goodbye
with a "thank you for staying with us," and inviting us to come back again. J&H is just a really nice place to stay. After leaving, we saw an old volcano with lots of lava rocks at the side of the
road east of Seligman. We got to Hoover Dam and were stopped and inspected by
Special Police, then were sent on our way. We got to Sam's RV Park and set up
camp, then had supper. We went to Wal-Mart for groceries, then watched airplanes
land and take off at the airport. WOW!! At one place, the planes came right over
our heads!!! |

Bye! Thanks for coming!

It's the first
day of summer and the longest day of the year. Dave fed some bread to the
pigeons around our camp. Then we went to the office so Deanna could use a
computer, then we drove downtown. We visited Bally's, Paris, Caesar's Palace,
Mirage, Harrah's, and got tickets for the Secret Garden at the Mirage. We saw
white tigers, dolphins diving and playing, lions, and other animals. We had
lunch at McDonald's then went to the Bellagio to watch the fountain show.
We went to Ellis Island for supper then on to the Rio where Dave, Deanna, and I
all caught necklaces thrown to us. It was called Parade in the Sky and had big
balloons and a gondola with dancing girls and boys throwing the necklaces. I had
to back up to catch mine and the people all cheered when I caught it. I guess
they thought this old gal couldn't catch one, but I did it! We drove back out to
the airport and watched the planes coming and going again. On the way home, we
stopped at a Dairy Queen and had ice cream. Got back to the RV and Dave and
Deanna went to the casino, but I stayed in the RV and got ready for bed. I was
too tired to do anything else. |

June 22 Happy anniversary, Dave and Deanna. We are going to IHOP for
breakfast. Later, we found a fax machine so Deanna could send in some important
papers. We stopped at Fry's Electronic Store, then went to MGM Grand, the M and
M store, Coke store, then to Paris and rode the elevator to the top of the
Eiffel Tower. When we got back down, we shopped in several French stores and
Deanna bought a gift for her boss. Then we went to the Rain Forest where we
thought we would eat, but we left when we discovered their prices had tripled in
a year's time. We drove to an Atomic museum where we found out a lot about how
the atomic bomb was invented and how it was used. We bought pins and a patch in
the gift shop. We then went back to Sam's and had supper at the Firelight
Buffet. Very good food and not bad prices. |

Happy anniversary!

We left camp and went downtown again, watched the planes for
awhile, then went to the Las Vegas welcome sign and took pictures. Lots of
people were there doing the same thing so we had to wait our turn. We then
rested for awhile in the RV and went out to see the Rita Rudner show at
Harrah's. What a funny gal Rita is! And a clean act! No foul
language at all! We had our pictures taken while there and I bought two of them for
$10 each. After the show, we went to Fremont Street downtown and saw a movie
being filmed on one street. Now I know! When those movies show
someone driving around inside a car, it's sometimes sitting on a trailer being pulled by a truck and not
driving at all. They even had a computer screen hanging over the top of
the windshield rippling lights so it would look like they were driving in the
lighted part of the city. What a night!! We walked so much my feet were
dragging by the time we got back to the RV.
