Where the early travelers got their ice or cold waterRiverside Inn (and RV Park) near DuBois Wyoming is in our "top 5 RV parks" for beauty and amenities.  We arrived late in the afternoon with a An attempt to photograph Pronghorn's light drizzle of rain falling through the giant trees.  It was really quite chilly and we all donned our coats in a hurry.  Being in Grizzly bear country and wanting to stay safe while at the same time really looking forward to seeing the bigger wildlife, we talked to a lady at the front desk about local "critters". She told us that as long as we stayed within the park boundaries we would be completely safe but qualified that with "if you see a moose stay away from it. They don't have very good dispositions".  The RV parking area was back in the trees behind the cabins with a nice view of surrounding low lying hills (or so we thought they were low lying hills). We didn't get a lot of time to look around as it was beginning to get dark. Nestled down in a valley, the mountains shielded Riverside Inn (RV Camp) Dubois Wyoming us from the sun so evening seemed to come a little early.  The next morning we were doing all those things you do in preparation to leave and took a few minutes to walk around and smell the roses.  What a surprise we had when we discovered that during the night it had snowed above us and the "low lying hills" were covered.  It was really beautiful!  We also discovered that the huge trees we had noted on the way in were Cottonwoods.  We have a lot of Cottonwood trees in our area but none the size of these behemoths and even the bark was king sized.  On the way out of the park we were escorted by a line of geese who were all honking their displeasure at our leaving.  To this day I think they thought our white RV was a giant goose about to leave the fold.  Riverside Inn Dubois Wyoming
