January 27th, 1967

TWX announcing the death of the Apollo crew

Here is an excerpt from Mike Andrews that pretty well sums up what most of us were feeling at that time.

"I was there (MSC in Clear Lake) from July 1 1965 through the end of February 1967,
working for Lockheed.  I remember losing Grissom, White, and Chaffee,
too.  I was at work when it happened, and again, the next day, when we got
the tape from Canaveral with the biomed data on it.  I had to run the data
out to stripchart for the NASA bigwigs.  The pulse and respiration data just
dwindled down to three pairs of flat lines, and I cried."
